The War Cry for Change: A Revolution to Reclaim Veteran Mental Health
"Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced." ~ James Baldwin
I love sharing powerful stories of recovery and highlighting the use of metabolic interventions to reclaim robust health, especially brain health.
This month, I’m inviting you - by spending just a few minutes - to support a veteran-led initiative that will drastically improve mental health outcomes for the military and the general public.
I recently read Montana Senator Jon Tester’s impassioned demand that the Department of Veterans Affairs improve access to mental healthcare services, citing two horrific tragedies involving veterans who lived in rural California to demonstrate the need.
Learning more about the individuals’ medical history, it became clear that: No. No one needs more of THAT.
A few more clicks and I discovered: The War Cry for Change: A Revolution to Reclaim Veteran Mental Health, a partnership between The Grunt Style Foundation and Mad in America to ensure safe prescribing practices at the VA and all across the country - they are on it.
War Cry's leadership: Timothy Jensen, co-owner of the military apparel brand, Grunt Style, and President of the Grunt Style Foundation’s Board, and Will Wisner, Executive Director of the Foundation, know how to get things done. Alongside BurnPits360 and others they advocated to get The Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Pact (PACT Act) passed in August 2022. Joined by Derek Blumke, the Foundation’s first Veterans’ Impact Fellow, the team is on a mission to revolutionize veteran mental healthcare.
