Book Review: Brain Energy by Dr. Chris Palmer

In ‘Brain Energy’, Dr. Palmer reveals the missing piece to what many of us - whether because of our own health journey or because we’ve walked alongside a loved one tormented by the onset of mysterious symptoms – have blindly grappled for: the underlying cause (and cure).

Dr. Palmer demonstrates what has been hiding in plain sight: the role of mitochondria in symptoms of mental illness and, incredibly, their potential to restore total health – even when the trigger has been trauma, for example.

It is a simple yet breathtaking revelation, delivering hope beyond hope for treating not only mental and metabolic illnesses but substance use disorders, including alcoholism.

What makes ‘Brain Energy’ so effective is the logical, methodical definition of what is being considered and addressed, the science supporting Dr. Palmer’s unifying theory, the identification of contributing factors to illness, with suggestions for healing interventions. And the success stories.

‘Brain Energy’ belongs in the hands of every psychiatrist, medical director, health services administrator, recovery specialist, and pediatrician – ASAP – but is suitable for anyone and everyone.

The writing about science is clear, but I benefitted from listening to Dr. Palmer read the book on Audible. His determination and compassion are obvious throughout. Thank you, Dr. Palmer!
